I am one the luckiest drummers on the face of the planet. I toured the world for 5 years with this group seeing all sides of the all cultures. They treated me like family all the time and I'm extremely humbled and greatful god brough us togather to share the magic of music. RIP Lillian LOpez.
8 December 2023. Cape Town. South Africa. It's Friday morning. I'm 43. Singing this whilst painting. Had to come here to listen. Thank you for the music! Brilliant music! That still makes every inch of your body move!
Sento questa splendida musica a distanza di 40 anni!!! Mi mancava questo pezzo e oggi lo ritrovo nonostante il tempo è sempre tra le migliori musiche disco mi fa venire nostalgia e brividi❤
I’m here brother listening to this gem got volume cranked right up my neighbours must love this song they haven’t been round to tell me to turn it down wouldn’t matter it would fall on deaf ears anyway 😂😂😂😂
Going back to my roots instantly transports me back the early 80's when music was music and not just noise. Odyssey were a very talented group and had they own unique style which still sounds amazing today.
Oh my God, what memories of this beautiful time. Carefree and happy youth. Glad to have lived it. I love "Going back to my roots". Really no regrets, when I see what's happening now... RIP Lillian (fu.. cancer) we don't forget you. Thank you for these wonderful moments 🎶🎵🎶🕺💃. My children love this song "WoW dad, it makes you smile and it makes you want to dance, it's great"... Be happy life is short!
I’m 57 love every spectre of music 1st love Motown and reggae but this was first music worm stuck in head and stayed ever since and thank you odyssey for setting me on my musical journey 🙏🏿🎶😘
Classic Soul. What a lot of people dont know is that , the bridge break down sung from 2:30 mins is actually sung in Yoruba. A Nigerian language. The language is spoken by Nigerians who originate from South West Nigeria. They are saying "awa o ma rantin, iran ti ile o ise dale baba awa" translates as "We will always remember our ancestors home. The foundational Roots of our fore-fathers" ...just to name drop, Prominent celebs with Yoruba ancestory include: Sade Adu ( (the artist), Seal ( the Artist ) , Akheem Olajuwon ( ex NBA star ) , Fela ( late Artist ) , Wole Soyinka ( Poet ) John Boyega ( Actor) David Oyelowo ( Actor ) Wale ( rapper ) ....the list goes on !!!
Judgement is coming, do you wonder why ??? One Sunday morning in June, 1933, God gave seven major continuous visions to His prophet William Marrion Branham THE SEVENTH VISION. “The last and seventh vision was wherein I heard a most terrible explosion. As I turned to look I saw nothing but debris, craters, and smoke all over the land of America.” Russia now has a missile which can destroy a nation the size of France or a state the size of Texas, destruction is one button push away. ruclips.net/video/DNfn17y7iNo/видео.html The Lord prophesied that He would send a prophet at this time. Malachi 4:5. Matthew 17:11 Revelation 10:7. God has raised the dead on FIVE occasions through His chosen vessel. God was photographed SIX times, (Veiled in the form of the Pillar of Fire) with His prophet. The, “Elijah anointing,” (Concerning the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ) is used “TWICE.” The first time 2,000 years ago, when God sent John the Baptist, then again in this day. At each, “Coming of the Lord,” there is an Elijah prophet who precedes that, “Coming.” Jesus said concerning John the Baptist. Matthew 3:3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Elijah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John, “Prepared the way for the Lord,” John did NOT “Restore anything,” as that which would need to be restored, (The full understanding of the whole Bible,) had not yet been given. This scripture concerns the Elijah prophet for, “THIS DAY.” Matthew 17:11. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall FIRST COME, and RESTORE all things. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. This Elijah prophet comes just before, “The coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord,” which happens in this day. We are now living in the last days, God has kept His word and sent that prophet, thereby “Restoring” His word to His Bride. These and other “Prophetical scriptures” fulfilled: Malachi 4:5. The 70 ties are better by far disco, funk, dance, soul.... The emergence of prominent black people bands or solo artists and divas..... there are so many, it would take too long to name them.
So glad i got to see Odyssey live .. RIP Lillian Lopez the lead vocalist .. I love you all my favourite band of all time .. Will listen to your songs while ever i still breathe ...
Not just the muscle in your body, it's another feeling in your head. A feeling which is so good, your head looks at your feet and we have a laugh with Each other. Great tune xxx

Real Good Disco Rhythm! It's time to "Boogie Down" with Odyssey one of New York's finest Disco Acts. This track is as good as "Native New Yorker", another great hit by the same group. Don't you wish that you had a "Time Machine" so you could travel back in time to the Disco Years of the '70s & '80s?! I really am dying to go back to a "Better, Friendly, Uncomplicated" time of "Peace & Love".

excellent music and... for those who descend from mother AFRICA, the phrase "Kawa o ma ranti, se iranti ile o, isedale baba awa" (Don't forget, remember home, the birthplace of our ancestors) at the end of the song, portrays well how we should remember where we come from, being proud of our ancestry.
