Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Sedum alfredii. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Kevinmontalktrib 22:26, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sedum alfredii, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi. I'm afraid you have had a rather confusing introduction to Wikipedia, and I hope you will not be discouraged. The links from the Welcome paragraph above will give you some useful advice. What happened with your article was this:

  • Having put it in, you blanked it. That is quite acceptable, and is taken as a request from you to delete it. The "New Page Patroller" who noticed the blanking did not notice that it was done by the article author - unfortunately blanking is a very common form of vandalism - so he restored it and gave you the warning message at the top of the page.
  • The next person who looked at the article wrongly tagged it as "nonsense". That was plain wrong, and I have explained to him; fortunately deletion of an article requires a second pair of eyes, and I have removed that tag.

The question now is, when you blanked the page, did you intend the article to be deleted? If so, please blank it again and replace it with {{db-author}} - two curly brackets each side - which is Wikipedia-speak for "author requests deletion." Please leave a message below here if you have any questions. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:47, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
